Message from the Head

There’s something truly special about the start of a new academic year, a renewed sense of purpose, anticipation and excitement that ripples across our school community. Now a few weeks in, Feltonfleet is fully alive with energy, laughter, learning and opportunity.

It has been a pleasure visiting our excellent Pre-Prep  to read, chat and play with the children, who are developing in character and independence each week. It is always a highlight of my week and I never leave without a smile on my face.

From Nursery to Year 8, there has been a real sense of momentum, a buzz of curiosity and connection and the kind of brilliantly messy learning where the best discoveries and progress are made.

The creative and competitive spirit has been on full display with the House Art Competition while House Sport has sparked some healthy and enthusiastic rivalry, including amongst the teachers. Our full fixtures programme is up and running, providing pupils with regular opportunities to represent the School, challenge themselves, and grow through teamwork and sportsmanship with some great results so far and lots of Feltonfleet spirit shown.

The Upper School Leadership Days provided a valuable platform for senior pupils to develop key skills in leadership, teamwork and communication. Through a range of collaborative tasks and reflective sessions, they had the chance to challenge themselves, share ideas and learn more about one another’s strengths.  Our Careers Fayre for Years 6 to 8 was a great success, with parents generously giving their time to speak about their professional journeys and offer valuable advice to our pupils as they begin to consider their own futures.

It has been lovely to see our youngest pupils settling so well into school life, navigating new routines with growing confidence.

Beyond the classroom, there have already been informative talks on the curriculum and Digital Safety and opportunities to connect, learn and support one another. We  welcomed parents across the school to our first EDI Forum of the year, a meaningful chance to connect, share experiences, and offer mutual support in our continued work to celebrate diversity and inclusion. And finally, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our Macmillan Coffee Morning — a warm and well-attended event in aid of a truly brilliant organisation.

And to think… we’re only in Week 4!  I look forward to sharing more with you in the weeks ahead.

Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable weekend.
