Year 5 French is off to a fantastic start!

Over the past few weeks, our pupils have thrown themselves into their language learning with real enthusiasm. They have been busy practising all the key skills of Listening, Reading, Writing, Translation and Speaking, often through fun and interactive role-plays.

The children can now greet each other confidently in French and are beginning to express their likes and dislikes with growing fluency, which has led to some lively class conversations. They are also gaining confidence in reading and writing simple sentences, laying the foundations for even more exciting learning as the year progresses.

French

A particular highlight has been using Linguascope, a dynamic language-learning app that the children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring. It provides instant feedback and personalised challenges, which not only help consolidate classwork but also make French engaging and interactive.

It has been wonderful to see how motivated the children are to test themselves and celebrate their progress!
