Our dedicated boarding staff at Feltonfleet are not just supervisors; they are 'house parents', the heart of our nurturing boarding community.
With extensive experience in caring for children away from home, they are always on hand to provide comfort, guidance, and support, ensuring that every pupil feels safe, settled, and truly valued. Their warm, family-like presence creates a home away from home, where pupils can adjust smoothly and thrive in our close-knit community.
It's a privilege to create a home away from home for our boarders. The bonds formed here, both with peers and staff, are incredibly special, and it's deeply rewarding to be part of their journey.
Head of Boarding | James Thompson
At the helm is our Head of Boarding, who lives on-site in a flat above the Boarding House, ensuring that support is always nearby. Our School Nurse quarters are central to the Boarding House, where our exceptional School Nurses are based around the clock, to attend to any child's needs - whether they are feeling unwell, are injured, or just need a comforting word. This dedicated care extends to all pupils, not just our boarders, making our School Nurses an integral part of the wider school community.
The boarding team also includes four Boarding Tutors and a group of four enthusiastic Gap Student Tutors, all living on-site and fully committed to the wellbeing of each child. Weekly meetings among the Boarding Staff ensure that every pupil is discussed and known, allowing for tailored support and understanding. This consistent communication ensures that every child is acknowledged and valued by all staff members.
Our Head of Boarding, who also serves as a Designated Safeguarding Lead, works closely within our comprehensive Pastoral Care Framework. Alongside the Deputy Head (Pastoral) and Section Leaders, this team of experts ensures that every aspect of every pupil’s welfare is carefully monitored and managed.
At Feltonfleet, we foster a culture of openness and approachability, encouraging parents to reach out with any concerns - no matter how big or small. We believe in strong partnerships with families to ensure that every child is supported, both at home and in school.
