Feltonfleet Girls’ Hockey – Autumn Term Update | News

The girls’ hockey season has begun with great energy and enthusiasm across all age groups, and it has been wonderful to see the progress the girls are making both in training and in fixtures.

The U13 girls made a brilliant start at the Epsom College Tournament. They produced a superb win against St George’s College and pushed both Danes Hill and Epsom College very close in exciting matches. These performances showed how quickly the girls are developing their tactical awareness and patterns of play. Since then, they have also played competitive fixtures against St George’s College and St John’s Leatherhead, continuing to build confidence and resilience as a team.

The U10 and U11 girls have also enjoyed testing fixtures against Danes Hill and Cranleigh. Both year groups demonstrated real determination, teamwork and, most importantly, a growing enjoyment of the game.

Across the school, it has been fantastic to see all the girls working so hard in training. Their effort and commitment to improving their individual technical skills are really shining through, and they should feel proud of the progress they are making.

A real highlight this term has been the Upper School House Hockey. Played with tremendous spirit and passion, the competition was very close and the standard of play impressively high. After some thrilling matches, Badgers took first place, but only just ahead of Tigers and Otters, while the Foxes were deserved winners of the Fair Play Award. The house pride and sportsmanship on display made for a fantastic afternoon of hockey.

It has been a hugely encouraging start to the season, and we look forward to watching the girls continue to grow in confidence, skill, and love for the game over the weeks ahead.
