SchoolsGuide2023 Top50[2]1080Schools Guide 2023 front coverFor the second year in succession, we are extremely proud to have been selected in The Cricketer Schools Guide 2023 as one of the top 50 prep and junior schools for cricket in the country.

Following a huge number of entries submitted for The Guide, the schools were judged against an extensive set of criteria, which included a compelling commitment to cricket in the curriculum, facilities, fixture programmes and coaching.

The Cricketer was impressed with our grassroots cricket programme, which begins with our Year 1 pupils in the Pre-Prep, teaching them the fundamentals of cricket and keeping it fun, ensuring they have built a good foundation of cricketing skills by the time they reach Year 5.

As part of his Berkshire CCC side, Andrew Rishton won both the One-Day Trophy and the 3-day Championship and in October he was selected again to represent the England XI in the Dream 11 European Championships.  Following last year’s Championship victory, the team finished second this year and Mr Rishton was awarded “Player of the Tournament” for his performance in the competition.

IMG 4243 (1)Cricket isn’t just a summer sport at Feltonfleet, Mr Rishton explains, “This year we continued to add value to our pupils from the first week of the academic year with our winter programme, with four hours of clubs a week, from Year 3 beginners to Year 8 County age-group players.  In total we will see close to 100 boys and girls at our sessions each week. There is an opportunity for anyone who would like to have a go, or to improve, to do so. As well as our open sessions, we get to see our more-able boys and girls and help them continue to improve and push their limits in the sport.”

Hugo Bowling (1)Commenting on our selection for The Cricketer Schools Guide 2023, Mr Ed Smith, Director of Sport at Feltonfleet said, “Our entry in the Guide is testament to the dedication and professionalism of our staff team and our excellent facilities, which are only set to improve with the addition of two new Multi Use Games Areas in the spring.  The boys and girls train hard all year round and we are extremely proud that a further 18 pupils have made Surrey CCC squads for this coming winter.”

The Cricketer Schools Guide is available on newsstands now and on thecricketer.com website from Friday 9th December.

This year, Mental Health Awareness Week shines a spotlight on the power and importance of community. Being part of a community can make life feel more meaningful and enjoyable, helping us feel happier and safer. At Feltonfleet, we’re using this week as an opportunity to pause and reflect with our pupils on the incredible community we share - one rooted in kindness, support, and meaningful connection. In the boarding house, on the sports fields, and around every corner of our school, there’s a spirit of togetherness and a listening ear when it’s needed most. It’s this sense of belonging that helps our pupils thrive - not just this week, but every day. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #FeltonfleetWellbeingAndCommunity #FeltonfleetWhereIndividualsReallyMatter #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #FeltonfleetWellbeingAndCommunity #FeltonfleetWhereIndividualsReallyMatter

Today, we marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day with pride and gratitude. Our prefects led an insightful assembly, sharing the significance of this historic day, and pupils added a splash of red, white, and blue to their uniforms to honor the courage and sacrifice of those who fought for our freedom. A moment to reflect, remember, and commemorate. #VEDay80 #FeltonfleetRespect

One of the highlights of the trip was the exciting sledging races down the mountain. Our Year 7 pupils delivered an incredible performance of Return to the Forbidden Planet this week. The crew of the Starship Albatross took us on a thrilling space adventure in this sci-fi production, inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest and infused with 1950s rock ‘n’ roll. Their talent and teamwork were truly outstanding. Well done, Year 7! #FeltonfleetYear7 #FeltonfleetPerformingArts
