On Wednesday, our wonderful Year 2 pupils took to the stage for their end of year assembly - a heart-warming celebration marking the end of their Pre-Prep journey and the exciting step into Prep and Year 3.
The assembly centred around the inspiring story The Koala Who Could by Rachel Bright, a tale that perfectly captured the theme of growth, bravery and embracing change. The pupils retold the story with great enthusiasm, confidence, and creativity, bringing the characters to life and sharing the powerful message that it's okay to be unsure - and that courage often brings wonderful things.
As part of the performance, each pupil shared something they once found challenging but can now do with confidence, a beautiful reflection of how much they have all grown in their time in Pre-Prep. From learning to read and swim to riding bikes and making new friends, their proud smiles said it all.
The pupils also delighted us with a selection of songs that added energy, joy, and emotion to the assembly. Their voices filled the room and touched the hearts of everyone watching.
To close the assembly, we shared a special surprise - a video montage of photos, lovingly put together by the teachers, capturing precious memories from across the pupil’s Pre-Prep years. There were more than a few happy tears from parents and staff alike as we looked back on just how far our Year 2s have come.
We are incredibly proud of how beautifully the pupils performed and how confidently they shared their journey. It was a morning full of joy, reflection and celebration, and the smiles on the faces of parents and children said it all.
Head of Pre-Prep, Gerry Deen, said:
"This Year 2 assembly was a beautiful reminder of just how much our pupils grow – not only in their learning but in their confidence, friendships, and sense of self. Watching them reflect on their journey with such pride and joy was incredibly moving. We are so proud of each and every one of them as they take this exciting step into Prep. "
