Time Travel in Year 3

Year 3 stepped b Year 3 Golden Hinde ack in time as they boarded The Golden Hinde and experienced life as a 16th century mariner on a recent trip.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on activities and immersive role-play. The lurid tales of bloodletting and limb removal from the grisly Barber Surgeon were not for the faint hearted. The children learnt lightning quick gun drills with the excitable Gunner and heard all about the mastery of navigational arts with the ship's Master. They even got to enjoy their lunch below deck in the galleon of the ship. An exciting day out was enjoyed by all where history was brought to life onboard Sir Francis Drake's Golden Hinde.

This year’s remembrance service at Feltonfleet was particularly moving, with a visit from the niece of one of Feltonfleet’s fallen, reminding us of the personal stories and legacies behind each name. Our Heads and Deputy Heads of School led the commemoration, sharing insights from their visit to the Royal Hospital Chelsea, where Veterans shared what remembrance means to them.
