Bursar and Clerk to Governors
Feltonfleet School is keen to identify an outstanding Bursar with significant leadership, organisational and emotional intelligence skills who will work collaboratively with the Headmistress (Shelley Lance) and the Governors in delivering the current Five Year Strategic Plan (2024 – 2029) and leading the next chapter of the school’s ambitious development to expand and improve its educational offering, estate, facilities and services over the coming years.
This is an exciting role at a well-managed, happy and successful school, set in 25 acres of Surrey with provision for pupils aged from 3 – 13 years.
Reporting into the Head, with an additional dotted line to the Chair of Governors, the Bursar is the senior non-teaching leadership role in the school; it is both challenging and rewarding. With responsibility for Finance, HR, Compliance, Company Secretarial, Estates, Facilities and Services, the role is wide in scope and remit. The Bursar also serves as Clerk to the Governors.
We are seeking an exceptional commercial general manager - a collaborative team leader with demonstrable strategic thinking and project management skills, an ability to lead and develop diverse teams with emotional intelligence and an ability to juggle many different projects and priorities.
Our ideal candidate will identify and manage potential problems before they materialise, but above all, we want someone who understands and commits to the ethos and values of our school community. The position would suit an experienced Bursar; however we welcome applicants from other backgrounds who meet the personal specification and qualities in the job description.
Interested candidates are invited to contact our recruitment adviser, David Stephens, on 07739 457000 or at david@davidconsulting.co.uk for an initial confidential discussion about the role.
Further information on the school can be found in the applicant pack.
