On World Book Day, we welcomed Helen Dennis, author of 'The Secret Breakers' and 'River of Ink' series, to Feltonfleet. Helen led a succession of workshops throughout the day for pupils in Years 3 to 7, linked to the themes of her books – code breaking, secrets and mystery!

Using interactive props and enthusiastic volunteers, Helen inspired the pupils to, not only be adventurous in their story writing, but also adventurous in their book choices, encouraging the older children to choose to read about characters vastly different to themselves to expand their awareness of issues such as disability and cultural differences.

In celebration of World Book Day, pupils and staff dressed as their favourite book characters. More images from the day can be found on our website Gallery page.
