Digital Prefects Lead the Way with AI Innovation | News

Our Year 8 Digital Prefects – Elise, Alexander, Tamara, and Toby – were exceptional ambassadors for pupil leadership when Feltonfleet recently hosted a group of visiting teachers from the PSB Group of Schools.

Representatives from Bishopsgate Prep School, The Beacon School and Somerhill School joined us on site, with several other schools attending virtually to be part of an engaging and forward-thinking discussion on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education.

With AI high on the agenda, the highlight of the event was the demonstration of RileyBot, Feltonfleet’s own AI-powered learning assistant, delivered by our confident and articulate Digital Prefects. They guided visitors through the app, fielding thoughtful and often complex questions about the use of AI in the classroom with maturity, insight and enthusiasm.

Tamara, one of the prefects involved, reflected on the experience:

"I really enjoyed sharing my experience on RileyBot with others that are interested in learning through Artificial Intelligence. I found the discussions built my confidence and helped me realise it’s okay not to know everything, as long as you try your best and share honestly."

The event received glowing feedback from visitors, with Emma Howard-Williams, Head of Digital Literacy at Somerhill, commenting:

“The pupils who shared how they used their AI companion, RileyBot, were outstanding champions for the use of technology to enhance their learning experience.”

Our Digital Prefects showed that not only are they capable of embracing emerging technologies, but they can also lead meaningful conversations about how these innovations can shape the future of learning. Their participation was a clear sign that Feltonfleet is at the forefront of educational innovation – and that the next generation is more than ready to lead the way.
