Pupils in Years 3 to 6 have raised an astonishing £11,073.63 by taking part in this year’s Schools Triathlon Series.
This is a truly outstanding achievement that reflects their enthusiasm, dedication and community spirit.
The triathlon, which saw pupils swim, cycle and run as part of a team, was not only a test of stamina and teamwork, but also a fantastic opportunity to make a difference. Thanks to the children’s efforts and the generosity of their sponsors:
- The first £50 raised by each pupil will be donated to Restless Development, a youth-led international development agency.
- The second £50 raised goes directly to Cherry Trees, a local charity providing home-from-home respite care for children with complex disabilities.
- Any amount raised over £100 is again donated to Restless Development to support their impactful work around the world.
We are particularly delighted to report that £3,326.50 will be donated to Cherry Trees, helping to support the vital services they provide to children and families.
Well done to all the pupils who took part, and thank you to the parents who supported and cheered from the sidelines – and shared some wonderful photos of a very memorable day.
Deputy Head Pastoral, Helen Marland, said:
"It was fantastic to see so many of our pupils challenge themselves in such a positive way, showing real determination and teamwork. Their commitment to supporting two brilliant charities is something they should all feel incredibly proud of."
