The Feltonfleet learning journey is broken into four stages, and culminates at Destination 13, when pupils leave Feltonfleet aged 13, as happy, independent, resilient learners, with a strong sense of service, an abiding respect for others, and self confidence.
The four stage journey reflects our belief that success and achievement happen in a happy, optimistic environment where children travel at different speeds along their bespoke academic and personal pathway.
During each stage there is a focus on core learning attributes with the aim of children taking pride in, and responsibility for, their own learning. At each stage the expectation is that all pupils are provided with high quality learning experiences that lead to consistently high levels of progress and achievement. Throughout the curriculum we seek to equip each child with the core academic skills and learning attributes so that they can take pride and responsibility for their own learning.
Over the course of their journey, pupils progress from dependent learners to inter-dependent learners, developing the self-esteem and confidence in themselves to ‘risk’ learning and acquiring new skills. It is this confidence that enables our pupils to continue their journey beyond Feltonfleet at 13, to become whoever they want to be and go wherever they want to go.
We are passionate about blending tried and tested traditional methods of learning with the potential afforded by digital technologies to realise the very best opportunities for problem solving, critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, logical reasoning and creative expression.

It’s no coincidence that Prep Schools traditionally conclude at age 13. By this age, children are well-prepared to move on, akin to a bird ready to leave the nest. They have honed their skills, built confidence, and gained the experience needed to tackle the demands of senior school. Completing Destination 13 at Feltonfleet, means pupils have been the eldest in the school; they’ve embraced leadership roles, demonstrated initiative, and forged lasting relationships. Crucially, they’ve also been able to enjoy those vulnerable teenage years in a nurturing environment where they are well known and well loved.
Our Learning Framework gives clarity and coherence to the different aspects of pupils’ learning experience and development from 3 to 13, the most formative years of a child’s education.
