The Governors of Feltonfleet School are delighted to announce the appointment of Alastair Morrison as Headmaster, with effect from September 2012.
Mr Morrison is currently Deputy Head at Fettes College Prep School in Edinburgh. Part of Scotland’s top public school, Fettes Prep has a strong reputation for academic excellence and pupil numbers have increased steadily during the ten years that Alastair Morrison has been teaching there. He has had a number of management roles encompassing both the academic and pastoral care sides of the school.
Aged 38, Alastair Morrison has a theology degree and a PGCE from Durham University. He is married to Lizzie, a graphic designer and artist. They have three young daughters aged 5, 3 and 1, who will also be joining Feltonfleet when the family moves down to Surrey next summer.
Says Alastair, “In seeking my first headship I wanted a school with the values I’d choose for my own daughters. Feltonfleet has a unique family feel and Lizzie and I just felt at home the moment we met everyone.”
Alastair succeeds Phil Ward, who is leaving after twelve years to join Thomas’s, Clapham.
Chairman of Governors Mary Jenner comments, “Alastair was the outstanding candidate in a strong field of over 50 good applicants, including a number of experienced prep school Heads. His absolute dedication to children and to top quality teaching mirrors all the values that Feltonfleet embraces, so we are delighted he is joining us.”
