Martha has had a busy golfing summer. She played in both the Callaway Junior World Championships in San Diego, CA and US Kids Junior World Championships at Pinehurst, NC. In the Callaway event, Martha was 37th and at Pinehurst she finished 24th in a field, in each case, of 70 players. She played really well on difficult courses against some of the best girl golfers in the world and was pleased to achieve a top 25 finish at Pinehurst. Martha played with girls from China, Colombia, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Louisiana, California, Illinois, Florida and Ohio.
Over the Bank holiday weekend in August, she won the Girls' Age 9-10 Wee Wonders Grand Final in St Andrews. The Wee Wonders is the foremost national tournament for Under 12s. This means she has qualified again for the GB&I Wee Wonders team for the US Kids World Championships at Pinehurst in 2011. The competition was held over three rounds of nine holes on the Balgove course. Martha had an overnight lead and in very windy conditions held her nerve to win by three shots. The winner of each age group had their photograph taken with their trophy on the historic Swilcan Bridge on the 18th hole of the Old Course.
