Stimulating, enriching, and riveting, some of the words we have used to describe our two days of staff INSET which preceded the start of term.  We enjoyed a number of varied and dynamic sessions, including two led by nationally acclaimed speakers. Dave Keeling led a practical session focusing on Philosophy for Children, and a group of very brave Year 7 pupils were his class as their teachers looked on, riveted and impressed in equal measure. And then it was Jim Smith’s turn to encourage us to teach without risk, and to open up every possible avenue for pupil centred learning. A fascinating two days.
