The team’s first match was against the boys from Thomas’s Clapham who had won the U9 tournament last year. Feltonfleet scored first through a break from the base of the scrum by Shane Barry and then the opposition replied just before half time. The boys had most of the possession in the second half but couldn’t score again due to some gritty defence. Final score 5-5 Draw.

The penultimate game in the group was against old rivals Chinthurst. Due to a dominant scrum Feltonfleet monopolized possession and territory in this match, but as a result of some impressive tackling we were restricted to just the one try by Austin Wallis. Final score 5-0 Win.

The final match was a ‘derby’ against near neighbours Milbourne Lodge. This contest was very one sided and the referee stopped the game early when Feltonfleet scored their sixth try. Final score 30-0 Win.

The boys finished top equal in their group with 7 points from 3 games but did not go through to the national finals as Thomas’s had scored more tries in their victory over Chinthurst than we did. Overall, a very impressive performance from the whole team.
