Throughout the year children work with a variety of materials; wood, metal and plastics. In the younger years children work with ‘softer’ material to produce work such as kites whereas the older children are completing more complex projects such as casting in pewter to make jewellery. By the time children are in Year 8 they have experience a wide range of materials and processes and have gained a high degree of independence in their design work and their use of the workshop.
