There are never two days the same in the Boarding House and so it makes sense that when we plan activities that there are never two weeks the same. This week we managed to undertake two very different activities for the boarders to take part in.  Both involved one of the key factors for any boarding house to consider – food!

The first involved a little bit of woodcraft as we managed to build a fire in the newly cleared environmental area. This in area of the school that I can see the boarders using more and more and one that I hope we can also help to develop in the future. Of course once you have built a fire there is nothing else to do but sit back and watch it while toasting marshmallow and making endless rounds of jam on toast. A few marshmallow got lost along the way but this in an important life skill that all children should have.

The other life skill is the ability to make scrumptious cupcakes. This was certainly achieved by the girls and Mrs Harnden and I can say that they did taste great even though my justification for saying this was limited to just one cupcake. I hope the boys are a little more generous when it is their turn to do a little cooking themselves next week.
