Last Friday 27th November, 9 Year 8 girls headed off to Somerset for our annual fixture against Perrott Hill. After a good journey the girls waited anxiously to meet their host families or to settle into the boarding house. I was delighted to hear how much fun the girls had doing various activities and making new friends.
After a good breakfast in the boarding house we reassembled and started our match preparation. We played the Hockey match first; this would be a first for our girls as we are currently in our netball term. Nonetheless we got stuck in straight away and had plenty of possession. Unfortunately the Perriot Hill team where strong and managed to score 7 goals, however this did not really reflect the match and the number of opportunities we had to score. I felt this was a fantastic first game for the girls and shows that they have a promising team for next term. Final score 7-1 to Perrott Hill –player of the match = Cassie Hughes
Shortly after the hockey had finished we changed and headed off to the netball court. This was our opportunity to shine and that’s exactly what the girls did. They displayed great talent and controlled the game right from the start. We had numerous interceptions and managed to score from lots of them. I was very impressed with their performance throughout. I would like to thank Poppy Bathurst (Netball) and Isabella Greeno (Hockey) for their great leadership as captains and all the staff and parents from Perrott Hill for making us feel very welcome.
