On Thursday 14th May three teams of four children in Year 6 traveled down to Lancing College on the South Coast for their annual Science Challenge. A surprise ‘twist’ this year was that on arrival the children had to organize themselves into different teams comprising a mixture of children from all the other participating schools; an excellent idea for observing leadership and cooperation!
After a number of challenges in biology, chemistry and physics a lecture on cryogenics (complete with exciting demonstrations using liquid nitrogen) culminated in the making of ice cream, which was a suitable end to a very productive afternoon!
There was a competitive element to the activities and Feltonfleet did well, with pupils being in the winning physics team, the runner up chemistry team and another in the runner up biology team.
