Year 6 and Year 7 recently completed their annual leadership camps and both trips experienced some of the worst rainfall we have had for a while.
Year 7 set of to Ross on Wye and their first challenge was a supermarket shop in small teams to purchase their food for the whole weekend. Delightful and interesting evening meals were prepared by the pupils each night, as were good breakfasts and lunches. I think Jamie Oliver has nothing to fear! Despite the fact it rained all day Friday through to Saturday night, our spirits were not damped by the weather and the pupils took part in leadership/team initiative challenges and learnt how to survive in the woods. It brightened up a little on the Sunday and the pupils took part in abseiling, climbing, high ropes and caving. There was a fear at one stage that Miss Bray could become wedged in the cave but her team managed to encourage her through! Well done to everyone for trying something new and pushing yourselves in the activities.
On this and our Year 6 camping weekend the pupils behaved superbly and it was a lovely opportunity to see our pupils outside their comfort zones. Huge thanks to Miss Neale, Mr Perkins, the Gaps and Mr Richardson (who I believe likes camping now!)
