The David Rutherford Poetry Prize Competition was for all pupils in Years 3-8. A winner from each English set was chosen, to go towards one overall winner per Year. The overall winners were judged by a panel of several judges, including the Headmaster. They were assessed for their originality, good use of language and the use of imagery and techniques.
The 7 themes that pupils could choose to write on were: Spring, Easter, Nature and the Environment, Holidays, School Days, Celebration, Their own choice.
We were extremely impressed with these Year Winners, for their creativity, use of imagery, ability to structure and their use of rhyme and rhythm. Congratulations to all!
