As part of their Leavers’ programme, Year 8 enjoyed a productive ‘Senior Schools Preparation Morning’ on Monday 29th June. We welcomed a number of staff from Senior schools such as Cranleigh, St. John’s and Brighton College to talk and lead workshops on issues our Year 8s might face in Year 9 at their new school. Tim McConnell-Wood (Assistant Deputy Head at Cranleigh), spoke about “Managing the move to your new school – the House, pastoral issues, and other pupils”, followed by Paul Williams (Head of Transition at Epsom), who talked about “Managing the move to your new school – academic, extra-curricular life, and the staff”. The morning was rounded off with an inspirational speech from Harry Robinson (former Head Boy at Feltonfleet and now Deputy Head Boy at Reed’s). Our thanks to all of our distinguished visitors for giving up their time so generously.
