Council to Commons – The School Council at Parliament
We had a special day, and how very lucky we felt when the School Council visited the Houses of Parliament at the start of term. Ian Taylor, our constituency MP, regaled us with tales of life as an MP; we enjoyed a mock House of Commons debate of our own and agreed to ban cigarettes; and during a fascinating tour of Parliament we were privileged to get a sense of what it is to be part of the nation’s political community during these challenging and frenetic times. The Feltonfleet pupils were outstanding ambassadors for their school. They conducted themselves immaculately, spoke eloquently and thoughtfully, and were a credit to us all and my thanks to the children and Sarah Bray for letting me come with them!
