On Thursday evening of 29th January year 8 parents and pupils turned up to the third annual year 8 art exhibition and competition. Pupils were required to design a mural for the new Calvi hall on the theme of ‘its fun to learn’. Pupils rose to the challenge and the judging proved exhaustive and difficult because of the high standard of designs throughout. In the end the first prize went to the group consisting of Isabel Ashe, Amelia Rogers and Lisa Dewar. The judges felt this design answered the brief most effectively and would work well from close up as well as from a distance. The second prize went to Tom Bucknell, Alex Kersley and Alex Tanaka, and the third prize went to Venetia Montgomery and Alice Finch’s group.
