Shooting success heralds a ‘top gun’ new year. Congratulations to the .22 rifle squad who were ably led last term by Jerry Stileman and who under the expert coaching of Major Adcroft succeeded in gaining first place in Division 2 of the rifle league. This was no mean feat, with very strong competition and close scores. Jerry led the individual scoring in the final round with a super 98 out of a possible 100, and the team aggregate was 1137 out of a possible 1200. This is remarkable, especially when considering that the Feltonfleet team included some newcomers in Year 6 – competing against senior school pupils including Wellington. Indeed, it was one of our Year 6 boys, Alex Marshall, who gained a bonus prize for ‘best bull’ scored.
