Harry Manton performs in The Magic Flute
On Tuesday 4th November, I had the pleasure of being invited to see “The Magic Flute” by Mozart in Woking, Surrey. As well as the array of professional singers, there was a young opera star in the making, namely Harry Manton, a boy in Year 6. Not only was he singing as part of a trio of boys, he also sang on his own in German and in front of several hundred opera fans, as well as riding a “tandum.“ The Goodies” come to mind. This is no mean achievement, and demonstrated Harry’s fantastic vocal skills, including his natural acting ability and stage presence. Congratulations, Harry. It was “schoene” ( beautiful )
