The new School Eco-Committee met for the first time last week. Comprising Governors, teachers, a member of the non teaching staff, the Headmaster, and two senior pupils, itís brief is to move ahead with the schoolís sustainability plans. Having reviewed the five year plan strategy, we looked at the school development plan targets for this year, and then had a very exciting discussion about a practical idea to clear the overgrown pond in the woods to create an ecology site. A brain storming discussion of other things which we might embark on in the terms ahead concluded the meeting, but not before a pupil had encouraged the Headmaster to turn off some of his study lights!
