On a bitter day in early March Year 5 enjoyed a trip to Bough Beech reservoir near Sevenoaks to learn about the process of making water fit to drink and also what we can do to help save this precious resource. Bough Beech’s main purpose in life is to serve the needs of Gatwick Airport: to this end 38 million litres of water are extracted from the reservoir each day. A highlight of the trip was a walk through the tunnel under the reservoir dam.
