Parents and other family members enjoyed Calvi’s Christmas Production of The Elves and the Shoemaker. The children worked hard to prepare the show in just four weeks after half term, learning their lines, the choreography for the dances and their singing parts. A feature of Calvi House is that all children, including those in the Nursery, take part in productions and the youngest children performed their snowflake dance and song with great confidence, causing the audience great hilarity! The children in Year 2 who took solo singing roles were all impressive and their performing, together with colourful costumes and scenery all resulted in a thoroughly enjoyable show. Well done children and all the staff who made it happen – a splendid team effort!
Residents of Whiteley Village joined our parents this afternoon. The residents, who regularly come and see the school performances were served tea afterwards in the Staff Room and Year 2 pupils proved themselves to be excellent waiters and waitresses. Our thanks to teacher, Sarah Bray who kindly drove them home.
