Cows racing, dressed up dogs and children in the stocks…Feltonfleet was a strange place to be during Charity Week. All children from Calvi to Year 8 took part in different fundraising events in support of their chosen charities. In the Main School, children voted and formed committees in order to plan activities. Regardless of money raised, the children’s responsibility to their causes was very impressive and much fun was had. Here’s what they got up to:-
Calvi – sponsored Pedal Push, Bake Sale and Mufti day for Whizz-kidz – (providing mobility equipment for disabled children) Year 3 – brought their toy dogs to school and had a ‘dress up dog’ competition for Guide Dogs for the Blind Year 4 – collectively swam the length of the English Channel and had a mufti day for Macmillan Cancer Care Year 5 – Mini – marathon for Whizz-kidz Year 6 – Multi-sports events for Princess Alice Hospice Year 7 – Face painting, sponge throwing, wear pyjamas to school day for Childline Year 8 – Black and white day, smoothie sale and cow racing for Send a Cow (providing cattle for farmers in Africa)
