About Friends of Feltonfleet
Who is on the Committee and what does it do?
The Friends of Feltonfleet committee consists of a number of parent volunteers representing each class from Calvi Nursery to Year 8 and a small executive committee who take care of treasury, publicity, catering etc. Any parent can apply for a position on the committee and roles typically refresh every two years. Form reps are your initial contact with the work of Friends and they will keep you updated on forthcoming events and arrange opportunities for parent get togethers.
The primary purpose of the committee is to arrange social activities for the school community as a whole. Profits which are made from these events are contributed to school equipment and facilities and, additionally, in some measure to the wider community.
Typically we arrange events which can be enjoyed by the whole family, from a fireworks dsiplay in November to a family fun day in May. Additional fund raising drives use third party suppliers who provide us with high quality goods such as gift wrap and bulbs in return for a commission as a percentage of sales. Look out for posters, weekly newsletter entries and mail shots advertising all these events.
