Religious Studies
The Religious Studies department aims to give children the opportunity to discover truth for themselves so they can look at, question and understand the world and their place in it. It aims to nurture in the children; an assurance of their own place in the world, positive attitudes towards people who might hold different beliefs to their own and the courage to support beliefs and views they believe to be right.
During their time at Feltonfleet the children will have the opportunity to explore the universal questions in life to see whether or not there are answers to these big questions about our world. There is also the opportunity to learn about the beliefs and practices of the major world religions; Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Sikhism. Children will be challenged to develop an understanding and empathy for the beliefs of others whilst examining and exploring their own spirituality or faith.
PSHE & C
In Personal and Social, Health Education & Citizenship (PSHE+C), the children explore a range of issues to help them grow up confident and articulate in their world. The topics we explore aim to deepen understanding, motivation and responsibility with regard to making positive personal and social choices. From healthy eating, to crime and punishment, politics to relationships, PSHE+C gives children the time and space to explore what they think and why they think it! |
