Language club

As well as Mandarin lessons we will now be offering Russian, Arabic, Japanese, German, Italian and Portuguese. These lessons will take place at lunch-time and will be taken by experienced and qualified native speakers. These lessons started in January 2008 and enable students to have a simple conversation. They look at topics like introducing themselves and talking about family, telling the time, saying where they live and learning the basics of a new alphabet (with Russian, Japanese and Mandarin). The teachers are also very keen to introduce aspects of their culture to the lessons. This is a very exciting opportunity for us and it is very reassuring to listen to our fantastic Feltonfleet students discussing whether they should learn Japanese or German, Arabic or Russian. We hope that this will really inspire and motivate our young people to learn a foreign language and develop a keen interest in other cultures.
