Healthy Eating (Life Processes and Living Things) Year Four, Winter Term
In the first half of the Winter Term, Year Four seek to understand the need for food for activity and growth, and the importance of an adequate and varied diet for good health.
They explore the function of different food groups (protein, carbohydrate, fats, vitamins and minerals) and acquire an understanding of the concept of a 'balanced meal'.
The children consider the consequences of a poor diet and how this may affect mental and physical performance. Finally, a journey unfolds ... from the mouth into the digestive system! |
