Children are introduced to Information and Communication Technology at age three or four. In the early years especially, the computer significantly enhances our multisensory approach towards a rewarding level of achievement in reading, writing and numeracy.
We promote a cross-curricular approach to ICT and children are also taught discrete ICT lessons from Reception onwards, with Nursery having one-to-one specialist teaching.Children have network accounts, acessible from outside of school. They are taught to use e-mail in Year 4 and have full use of e-mail to support their work in the Senior School (years 5-8). Internet access is filtered and monitored.
We have a state of the art computer suite in the prep school, and 2 smaller suites in Calvi and the Music Department.
There are interactive white boards and projectors in all teaching areas to encourage a multimedia approach to teaching and learning. We also have high speed broadband, a large wireless network and several sets of wireless laptops.
