Geography Living Aims:

- As a Department we try to teach through an enquiry based teaching skill, which draws the information from the pupils and lets each pupil develop his/her own power of reason within the subject. We believe each pupil is full of knowledge and potential as he/she arrives to the lesson.
- We develop in pupils a respect for differing cultures and an empathy with people in our own and other societies by exposing the contrasting opportunities, challenges and constraints facing different peoples living under different conditions. The pupils themselves provide a valuable resource, which can be utilized to effect in this area.
- Pupils are encouraged to embrace a spirit of adventure by completing a piece of fieldwork from the youngest Years in Calvi to the oldest pupils in Year 8 as part of their Common Entrance Exam. The wonderful grounds with its wood and lake at Feltonfleet provide a perfect place for exploration.
Geography Leadership:
- Pupils discover a purpose of ownership and responsibility for the world in which they live at Feltonfleet leaving the school with sustainable ‘shared values’ through the ‘Feltonfleet Way’.
- The department aims to support the implementation of the statement on the ‘Feltonfleet Way’ and to enable pupils to develop a range of desirable personal qualities such as safety awareness, politeness, perseverance, concern for others, initiative and independence.
