Aims and Objectives for Drama at Feltonfleet School
- To introduce Drama as an individual subject to Senior School pupils
- To support the requirements for Drama at Key Stage 1 and 2 as set out in the English National Curriculum
- To cover the aims and objectives set for Drama within each Key Stage
- To provide a structured and progressive framework for the teaching of Drama in the Senior School
- To expose pupils to a range of drama skills, genres and techniques upon which they can build each year
- To encourage pupils to become positive, confident and animated performers
- To use a wide range of resources to help facilitate pupils to reach their individual potential
- To encourage the development of gifted and able pupils and support pupils with special educational needs
- To help pupils to gain in confidence and acquire skills that can translate across the curriculum and within other aspects of their lives
- To ensure pupils are given the opportunity to create, perform and respond to drama
- To enable pupils to interact effectively with others and develop an enquiry based approach to their work
- To provide an opportunity for all pupils to take part in an annual school performance and have the opportunity to view productions in others areas of the school and/or by professional theatre companies
- To provide a safe and stimulating environment in which the four school values can be encouraged
- To strive for high standards in the teaching and learning of Drama at Feltonfleet
