Head of Calvi - Mrs Sue Ward
Calvi House is the Nursery and Pre-Preparatory Department of Feltonfleet. Children join us in the September prior to their fourth birthday and spend the first four years of their time at Feltonfleet here.
Our small size makes us distinctive – just 80 pupils in four classes, each class being staffed by a teacher and full-time assistant. This helps to give Calvi a strong feeling of family which you have to come to visit us to appreciate. We believe that a happy, confident child will be a successful child. |

Calvi House has purpose-built accommodation – a magnificent new dining and sports hall, ICT suite and library, which were opened in January 2009, newly refurbished classrooms, garden and extensive play areas in our own area of the school campus. Seethe pictures below.
We offer a broad, up-to-date and exciting curriculum and ensure that learning takes place in a kind and ordered environment. Children entering Nursery are having their first taste of school life so we see it as important to create a calm and happy atmosphere. By the time they are ready to join the larger Main School when they are 7, they have been helped towards a measure of independence and can think for themselves.
Our pupils follow a broad curriculum - daily sport from Reception; French, Drama, Swimming and Music from Nursery, as well as the usual academic subjects.
We are fortunate in that we can use many of the Main School’s facilities like the Astro and Swimming Pool.
As our pupils move through Calvi, they are taught by Main School teachers for subjects such as Physical Education, ICT, French and Music.
