French Curriculum
French begins in Nursery and is taught throughout Calvi each week by a subject specialist. The emphasis is on immersion in the spoken word and the subject is taught almost entirely orally as with the mother tongue. |

The children enjoy learning songs and rhymes, playing with dolls and puppets and develop confidence in speaking and listening. By the end of their time in Calvi they are able to respond to simple instructions, engage in role-plays and perform playlets in the language. This forms a sound base for work in the Prep. School.
Most importantly, they have had fun and regard French as an interesting part of the curriculum.
