English Curriculum
Top priority is given to our children becoming literate whilst they are in Calvi. We expect the children to become fluent readers, articulate speakers and to be able to write confidently before entering the Prep. School. |

In Key Stage 1 we build upon the foundations of language and literacy laid in Nursery and Reception, paying due attention to the National Literacy Framework. Literacy has a prominent place in each classroom and we use interactive whiteboards and a wide range of textual resources to make lessons interesting. The children learn synthetic phonics and read individually every day.
