Art Curriculum
Art in all its forms has a high profile in Calvi. From their earliest days at school the children are all able to express their creativity through experimentation with a variety of media and we build on their enthusiasm later in Calvi by teaching techniques and correct use of tools. |

The children draw, paint, print and make collages as well as working in three-dimensions with clay and papier-mâché. While much of the work is individual, place is also given to collaborative large-scale pieces. Children are encouraged to discuss their own and others’ work in order to extend their imagination and by making work linked with topics and exploring the work of artists and designers they further develop their knowledge and skills. Staff plan activities from a wide range of starting points and our children respond with excitement and motivation.
