Boarders Activities

The boarders at Feltonfleet have the opportunity to partake in a variety of activities laid on for them every evening of the boarding week. This can range from model making in the tree house to wild games in the woods. The boarding staff are always trying to come up with new games that can entertain the children and make their time in the school even more enjoyable.

A lot of activities take place in the superb Sports Hall and the Swimming pool is often a great place for the children to relax and have fun after a hard day in the classroom. In the summer term we offer a great deal of outdoor pursuits that the children are very keen to take part in These range from treasure hunts, ‘capture the flag’ (a Feltonfleet tradition), tennis and, the most popular, BBQs!

Trips off site are arranged to the theatre. The children have had the pleasure of seeing such productions as Hairspray, The Lion King, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the African Children Choir.

However, in the end it is often down to the children what activities they want to do and what they enjoy the most!

What the Boarders Say

I’m in Vulcan and I like everyone in it because we help each other and all get on well. No one is disrespectable so we all get good night sleeps. Everybody is organised and happy. No one touches each others’ stuff which keeps arguments to a minimum. We are a good community who help each other so we can make the most out of the boarding experience at Feltonfleet.

The meals are of a high standard and I look forward to them.  After supper we have a chance to phone home.  Evening activities are enjoyable and allow us to let off steam.

We use our time in revision and work sessions wisely and get the work done with help from the tutors.

We have many excellent facilities in the Boarding House, such as the new Wii.   The study beds are cool and the bunks are spacious. 

The study periods are set at the right time – just after supper and just before bed during revision time.

The matrons remind us to hand in our clothes to be washed and ironed ready for the following day. 

Boarding at Feltonfleet helps us to get ready for our boarding life in our senior schools.

Boarding is so much fun; there are good activities and an excellent amount of free time.  We absolutely love boarding at Feltonfleet.  The teachers and our friends make it worthwhile.
