How do I find out more about the School?
First of all, visit our website and request a prospectus. The Admissions Registrar, Mrs Jackie Williams, will invite you to visit the school. She will make all the necessary arrangements for your visit, and confirm your appointment. She will welcome you on the day, and introduce you to the Headmaster. After coffee, you will be given a tour of the School. Please allow approximately one and a half hours for your visit.

How do I register my child for Feltonfleet?:
First contact the Registrar to discuss availablity in the required Year of entry. If there isn’t a place available, it may be necessary for your child to go on the waiting list. The Registrar can discuss this with you. A Registration Form is available by clicking here
There is also a copy in your prospectus pack. Please complete the form with both parents’ signatures (if applicable) and return it to the Registrar with the registration fee of £100 per child. Payment can be made by cheque or electronic BACS transfer. Click here for details.
How do we register our child for the Pre-prep?
Early registration is advised if you would like your child to join Nursery. One form entry means 20 places are available each year and they are allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. A waiting list may be in place and children will be offered places strictly in order of registration date. Children joining Nursery, flow into Reception, so Reception is not a main intake point at Feltonfleet.
Registration is valid for entry at any point and children who are unsuccessful at gaining a place in Nursery remain registered and therefore are automatically eligible for a place year by year as occasional spaces open up. While some families seek an occasional place, others will join Feltonfleet at 7+ when we expand to three classes per year group.
What is the process for our child to join the Main School at 7+?
Many of our children join us at 7+, when they enter the Junior Department. Once you have registered your child, we will invite him/her to come along to the Assessment Morning in November.
We want to find out as much about your child as we can, and whilst there is inevitably some emphasis on testing, we like the occasion (held on a Saturday morning) to be as relaxed and informal as possible. In that way, we believe that your child is much more likely to be at ease, to show us what they can do and what their interests are. Children wear home clothes and are invited to bring a favourite toy/item to talk about.
The morning is organised by our Assistant Head. Lower School (Mrs Sarah Shuttleworth) and the tests are in Literacy and Numeracy, and follow very closely the sort of assessments common to the National Curriculum at the relevant Key Stage. Several staff will be on hand to guide the children, respond to their questions, and observe them at work. We also place a high emphasis on watching the children play creatively, and their social interactions. Each child is briefly interviewed by the Headmaster, Deputy Head or Assistant Head, Lower School, who will also listen to them read a brief paragraph.
Are places available higher up the School?
Most boys and girls leave Feltonlfeet at 13+ but occasionally places become available in the Middle School (9-11 years) and the Upper School (11-13). Providing your child is registered and we have established that there is a place, we will invite you to bring your child along for a Taster Morning. They will sit papers in Mathematics and English and will join their current year group for the remainder of the morning and be invited to stay for lunch.
You will be asked to provide copies of their most recent school report and a transfer report will be requested from your child’s present school. We advise you to discuss your plan with your current Head before attending the Taster Morning. The Registrar, Jackie Williams, will advise you of the outcome by letter, within a week.
