Feltonfleet School is set to begin exciting developments in response to overwhelming demand for places in the Pre-Prep.

Over the next three years, Feltonfleet will begin a phased increase in the number of places available in the Pre-Prep, starting next academic year.  Additional places in Reception and Year 2 will be available from September 2019, and by September 2020 the Pre-Prep will have a two-form entry. This will increase the size of the Pre-Prep from 80 to 160 places.

An integral part of the development will be a newly refurbished building, entirely dedicated to the Year 2 children.  This will give the pupils increased access to the extensive facilities and further specialist teaching available on the main campus, enabling an even smoother transition towards Year 3 and the Lower School.

In addition to the growth of the Pre-Prep, ambitious plans have been approved to enhance the facilities for Science, Technology and Music in the Prep School. Further Science Labs, a new Technology hub for Digital Learning and Design & Technology, and a specialist Music School are all features of a project designed to enrich the opportunities for pupils in these areas.

Shelley Lance, Headmistress of Feltonfleet School commented, “We are excited to be entering this next phase of our development, which means that even more families will be able to benefit from the excellent start we offer our youngest pupils. Central to the plan is our desire to retain our special ethos with its emphasis on core values of individual care, community and opportunity.”

In response to the announcement, a Year 1 parent said, “We are really thrilled with the plans for Year 2 House along with all other school-wide developments. It’s so very clear how Feltonfleet strives to offer the best possible experience for our children, we firmly believe they couldn’t be in more capable hands.  Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better...”

The announcement comes just months after the school achieved the highest possible results in the ISI inspection which took place in September 2018, receiving “excellent” grades for both the quality of the pupils’ academic and other achievements, and also for pupils’ personal development.

Families are able to view the school by arrangement or attend an Open Morning. The next Open Morning will take place on Friday 8th March 9.00–11.00am.   Arrange a Visit

A huge thank you to our wonderful guest authors who visited Feltonfleet as part of our World Book Day celebrations. @julian_sedgwick held his audience spellbound with his tales of resilience, @jmeggittphillips had everyone in stitches whilst creating gruesome villains, @tompalmerauthor enthralled pupils with how he honours real people in his war stories, and @chloe.inkpen guided pupils on the journey of creating their own books, emphasising the importance of embracing mistakes as opportunities for new creations. Our visitors' inspiring stories and passion for literature have fuelled the love for reading and writing in our pupils. We're grateful to each, for the time and dedication to nurturing young minds. #FeltonfleetLiteracy #FeltonfleetEducationalExcellence
